Having a family member who suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Linda Burkett knew she must take action to help and support Veterans and their families who are directly affected by this often times debilitating condition.  Linda has firsthand knowledge of just how debilitating this disorder can be for the veteran and their family.  She also had a relative who served in the Vietnam War commit suicide and another relative who did not return from the Korean War.  Linda Burkett knew that action must be taken to help those who are suffering now, today.

Linda Lee Burkett was born and educated in Omaha, Nebraska.  Her elementary school years is where she met her husband James Lee Burkett.  They were married 42 years and have three children.  Linda attended Wayne State College.  She also received her license and instructed in the Beauty School Industry as well as consulting and sales.  She worked as an Executive Secretary and in Business Management.

Our Mission

Is to provide assistance to Veterans and their immediate families suffering with PTSD. By providing Veterans with a new purpose through coordination with other agencies we can provide Veterans and their immediate families with hope for the future.

One of the tenant principles of the foundation is to provide intervention therapies for PTSD before it results in physical violence or death of a Veteran or other individual.

Every Veteran responds to different treatment methods and The James Lee Burkett Memorial Foundation works with other Veteran Non-Profits to provide hope and treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
